“At NDA I participated in a Mission Trip to Kentucky which opened my eyes to social action organizations and service work. The school taught me to think and see things differently. At NDA, the mission-based service work is immersed in the school experience and it provided me with the confidence to seize opportunities and say ‘Yes’ to taking risks both inside and outside the classroom."
Where she is now: Bethany works as a Program Administrator for Catie’s Closet, a non-profit agency that provides donated clothing and other necessities to students in need in a discreet “closet” location within the school setting. Since 2010, the organization has reduced absenteeism, urged kids back into their schools and off the streets and increased graduation rates.
Bethany’s future: Bethany recently moved to Texas and will be pursuing a Master's Degree in Social Work while continuing to work with Catie's Closet.
Bethany’s involvement at NDA: Bethany served as Student Council President her senior year, she was a participant in liturgical music and campus ministry as well as a 12-season athlete in swimming, cheer, and tennis.
