“NDA constantly challenged me to grow as a student, leader, and citizen of the world. At NDA I was equipped to think critically about the issues we currently face as a society, and empowered to rise up to be part of the solutions.”
Where she is now: Dorothy graduated from UMass Amherst, Commonwealth Honors College in 2015 and is now a Microbiology and Immunology PhD candidate at Stanford University studying antiviral immune responses in bats.
Dorothy’s future: Dorothy plans to continue conducting research investigating viral diseases. Dorothy would love to work for an institution such as the World Health Organization where she can use her training to influence international policies impacting human health.
Dorothy’s involvement at NDA: Dorothy was student council president her senior year, as well as a member of Model UN, National Honor Society, liturgical dance, soccer, and basketball.
